“Artists have the task to point out changes and abuses in society within their means”
The artist, who lives in Dresden and Berlin, studied painting and graphics respectively communication design from 1983 to 1990 in Dresden and Berlin. The first circular objects made of corrugated cardboard were produced in 1994, followed by the first sculptural works in 1999. For Graphis New York she was one of the most important poster designers back in 1998. Since studying in the EU in 2009, the versatile artist has been influenced by the work and ideas of Cesar Manrique on the Canary Island of Lanzarote, true to his goal “not only to develop ideas, but also to implement them”.
In 2011 Katrin Süss conceived and organized for the first time EU-funded workshops on the subject of symbolism, which brought together artists from 17 nations in Dresden and Berlin.
